Feb. 28 – GREENVILLE, Pa. – Bethany College senior Taylor Verrico (Monaca, Pa./Quigley) was named an Honorable Mention All-Presidents' Athletic Conference selection announced the conference office on Friday evening.
Verrico, who also notched the same honors last season, had a stellar final year for the Bison, ranking eighth in the league in points (14.1) and ninth in defensive rebounds per game (5.0). A pure scorer, she was able to tally double figures in 20-of-26 games, including seven double-double performances. In her final contest as a Bison, Verrico would put on a performance to remember, scoring a career-high 36 points including seven triples, which would tie a Bethany single-game high (Jennifer Rodkey's on Jan. 14, 1996, against Waynesburg). The outing also marked the most points scored by a Bison since Kelley Richardson notched 36 points in the 2003-2004 season.
Over her four-year career, Verrico averaged 8.9 points and 4.1 rebounds per game, which produced eight career double-doubles. She was also deadly from behind the arc, knocking down 111 three-point baskets. Verrico also showed her ability on the defensive end of the court, registering 88 career steals.
A communications major and a Spanish minor, Taylor is the daughter of Daniel & Leslie Verrico of Monaca, Pa.
