Women's Basketball Falls to Thomas More

Jan. 22 – BETHANY, W.Va. – The Bethany College women’s basketball team (4-12, 3-6 PAC) suffered a 112-34 defeat at the hands of #5 Thomas More College on Wednesday evening.

Thomas More took control of the game early, running out to a 16-0 advantage over the first five minutes of the contest. The Saints would use that early momentum to take a 58-17 lead into intermission.

The second half was more of the same, as the Saints outscored the Bison 54-17, en route to a 112-34 victory.

Leading the charge for the Bison were R.E.L. Neal (Detroit, Mich./Melvindale) and Taylor Verrico (Monaca, Pa./Quigley). Neal scored a career-high nine points and added one steal, while Verrico chipped in seven points, two rebounds, and one assist.

The women are back in action on Saturday, Jan. 25, when they play host to Presidents’ Athletic Conference foe Waynesburg University. Tipoff is slated for 2:00 p.m.
