Who Should Attend Orientation?

All students enrolling in Bethany College for the first time in Fall 2014 (Class of 2018 and transfer students) are required to attend one of the four sessions offered.

Why Should I Attend Orientation?

Orientation aims to facilitate new students’ transition to Bethany College and to enrich each individual’s unique Bethany experience.

Should My Parents Attend Orientation?

Parents and support providers are very important resources for students throughout college, particularly during the first year. Summer Orientation lets you and the significant people in your life experience Bethany College together however, attendance by parents and support providers is not required.

When Should I Register For Orientation?

Date assignments will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis, so it’s important to register as soon as possible. Those students currently admitted and deposited will receive priority consideration for the June session.

A confirmation will be sent to each student with their Orientation date. Registration for the June session will be closed when capacity is reached or by Thursday, June 19, 2014.

What Will We Do During Orientation?

During the day, families and students will be split into smaller groups for certain sessions, and at times during the day, students may be separated from their families to take care of testing and specific sessions and business. You will receive a personalized schedule upon arrival on your Orientation Day.

How Much Does It Cost?

The Orientation fee will be included on your fall tuition bill. The fee will cover the student and 2 additional guests. There will not be a separate bill for this program, except for additional family members. The cost for additional family members is $10 per person.

What If We Have To Travel?

All students, parents and guests are responsible for their own overnight accommodations. Bethany College is associated with the hotel in town, Gresham Inn, rooms are limited so please make your reservations early. The phone number for the Gresham Inn is 304-829-4343.

A reception will be held the evening before Orientation (June 22, July 13, July 17 and August 20) at Gresham Inn for students and families that will be traveling from a distance for Orientation.
