BETHANY, W.Va. – Bethany College is expanding the availability of its Good Neighbor financial aid award to all students living in West Virginia or its five neighboring states.

“Bethany College is committed to making a liberal arts education accessible and affordable,” said Dr. Tom Stein, interim vice president of enrollment. “The Good Neighbor Award is an added financial incentive for the talented students across West Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Virginia and Maryland.”

The renewable award amounts to $2,000 annually, or $8,000 for up to four years of study. The Good Neighbor funds can be combined with other scholarships and grants. The award will become available to students living in the expanded area beginning with enrollment in fall 2022.

Bethany introduced the Good Neighbor Award in 2021 as more students considered attending colleges closer to home. At the time, students who lived in one of 28 counties in West Virginia, Ohio and Pennsylvania were eligible.

Students must complete the FAFSA and add the Bethany College school code, 003808, to their application to qualify for the award.
