New Faculty to Join Bethany College for Fall Semester of 2018
BETHANY, W.Va. – Bethany College has hired three new faculty members who will begin teaching in the Fall semester 2018.
These additions will grow Bethany’s departments of Communications and Media Arts, Education, and Mathematics.
The new faculty include:
- Dr. David M. DeIuliis – Dr. David M. DeIuliis, of Pittsburgh, Pa., joins Bethany as Assistant Professor of Communications and Media Arts. He received a B.A. in Journalism and an M.A. in Media Studies from Pennsylvania State University and a Ph.D. in Rhetoric from Duquesne University. Since then, Dr. DeIuliis has taught at Washington & Jefferson College, Stevenson University, University of Pittsburgh, and Duquesne University.
- Dr. Eileen St. John – Dr. Eileen St. John, of Coraopolis, Pa., is Bethany’s new Assistant Professor of Education. She holds an M.A. in Elementary Education with a concentration in elementary math and science from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania and an Ed.D. with a concentration in reading education from University of Pittsburgh. Dr. St. John comes to Bethany with almost 20 years of professional experience, including positions at Concordia University-online, University of Pittsburgh, and Walden University College of Education and Leadership Ed.D. Program.
- Dr. Satoshi Takahashi – Dr. Satoshi Takahashi, of Berea, Ky., is Bethany’s new Associate Professor of Mathematics. He earned a B.S. in Physics and Mathematics and an M.A. in Mathematics from University of California and a Ph.D. in Applied Physics and Mathematics from Columbia University. With over 30 years of teaching experience, Dr. Takahashi has taught at many institutions, including Rio Hondo College, Rochester Institute of Technology, and Elmira College. His research interests include computational neuroscience, statistical machine learning, mathematical bioscience, and curriculum materials for parents and children.
