Throughout history, Bethany College has sought to recognize and reward student achievement in leadership and service. The Kalon Leaders Scholarship Program was started in 1984. It serves as an extension of our commitment to the recognition of students who possess special leadership potential, and will contribute to the Bethany Community.

Award maintenance is dependent upon student involvement in the College community, a good citizenship record and a minimum cumulative 2.5 grade point average.

Scholarship Amount: $19,500

Participants are expected to have demonstrated exceptional qualities of character and leadership, to have achieved a record of distinction in service to their school and community, and to have maintained a commendable grade point average. All students involved in the scholarship competition must be accepted by February 7, 2018.

Scholarships may be stackable with other Bethany awards. However, Kalon is not stackable with Bethany Merit money, as they are separate tracks. Kalon may be stackable with Alumni awards, Campus Visit Grant and Sibling Scholarship, just to name a few. The Bethany Need Grant is replacement funding of all grants and scholarships except outside resources. If you have any questions about financial aid, please contact Jill Fernandes, Executive Director of Financial Aid, at 304.829.7601 or
