BETHANY, W.Va. – Bethany College has been named as one of the country’s “Most Athletic Hidden Gems” among small colleges by College Raptor, a leading college-planning platform that helps families discover colleges based on academic and cultural fit.
With athletic involvement from 57.21 percent of the student body, Bethany, an NCAA Division III school, was ranked fifth in the nation by College Raptor. The ranking’s criteria limited the selection to schools that receive fewer than 5,000 applications a year and have fewer than 7,000 undergraduate students enrolled.
“Finding hidden gems for students is core to how we help students and families discover great college choices. That’s why we love putting out our Hidden Gems lists each year to highlight excellent schools like Bethany,” said Bill Staib, CEO of College Raptor.
Part of the Presidents’ Athletic Conference and Eastern College Athletic Conference, Bethany offers 22 intercollegiate athletic teams, along with intramurals and club sports.
“It’s an honor to be recognized as one of the Most Athletic Hidden Gems,” said Steve Thompson, Director of Athletics for Bethany College. “From the moment you step onto our campus, you know Bethany is a special place. We couldn’t be prouder of the Bethany student-athlete experience.”
