Independent Ranking Services Score Bethany at the Top for Finding Employment and High-Paying Jobs

BETHANY, W.Va. – Two college ranking services say that Bethany College is the #1 college or university in West Virginia for graduates looking for good-paying jobs.

Zippia, a web-based career builder, ranked Bethany the best college in West Virginia for finding employment. Additionally, College Results, a web tool provided by The Education Trust in Washington, D.C., found that Bethany graduates were first among all West Virginia colleges and universities for having the highest percentage of alumni earning more than $25,000 ten years after enrolling.

Additionally, just one year ago Bethany College was ranked as the #1 college in West Virginia overall by College Choice, an independent online publication.

“Employers in all categories need problem solvers, independent thinkers, and lifelong learners,” says Bethany College president Dr. Tamara Nichols Rodenberg. “The modern economy requires a 21st century workforce with a different skill set from even ten years ago. These rankings illustrate how a Bethany College education serves our graduates well as they move into careers in a wide variety of fields and professions.”

“As the unemployment rate continues to shrink to figures not seen for nearly half a century, it’s becoming more and more important for college graduates to prepare for a competitive workforce,” according to Zippia’s website. “This means picking the right major, having great internship and work experiences, but most of all, choosing the right college to attend in the first place.”

Both the Zippia and College Results rankings are based on independently validated data from the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System and the U.S. Department of Education’s College Scorecard data. Other sources include other Department of Education databases, Barron’s Profile of American Colleges, Peterson’s Databases, and the National Association of State Student Grant and Aid Programs.
