BETHANY, W.Va. – Bethany College senior Stephanie Sowers was named a recipient of the 2016 Sigma Beta Delta Fellowship and was presented with the award by President Rodenberg on Wednesday, Sept. 7, in Phillips Lounge.
Each year, the Sigma Beta Delta Fellowship Program awards over 20 scholarships to qualifying students who exemplify excellence in their academic studies.
To apply for a fellowship, the student must fill out an application that discusses their work experience, honors and activities and education. In addition, the candidate must provide a 500-word essay discussing their academic strengths, challenges, community involvement and leadership qualities.
Sowers, from Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, is the daughter of Timothy and Jennifer. She is pursuing a degree in management.
Sigma Beta Delta honors students in business, management and administration at institutions that offer baccalaureate and graduate degrees in these fields where the college or university holds accreditation from one of the six regional accrediting bodies. In 2015, Bethany’s first class of students were inducted into this Honorary.
