BETHANY, W.Va. – Bethany College will host the director of heritage programming at Wheeling Heritage in a discussion about engaging surrounding communities in Wheeling’s history.

Betsy Sweeny will talk with students at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 31, in the Academic Parlour in Old Main. She also will discuss student internship opportunities with Wheeling Heritage.

Sweeny is an architectural historian featured in the Discovery Plus show “In With the Old” for her efforts in restoring the McLain House (circa 1892) in Wheeling.

The presentation is organized by Dr. Ian Lanzillotti, assistant professor of history, to generate interest in public history among students.
