Heather A. Taylor

Associate Professor of English

Cramblet Hall, 201E

I grew up in rural southeastern Ohio and was the first in my family to attend college. In my role as Director of the McCann Learning Center, I oversee a number of programs (including tutoring and academic accommodations) and meet with students one-on-one to discuss their academic skills and plans.

I worked as a tutor and a note taker while I was a student at Bethany and that is what introduced me to the world of disability services. I love helping students to address their weaker areas while honing their strengths and becoming better self-advocates.

Favorite Quote, Book, or Movie … Why?
“Some people say, save yourself and you save your life. I say, be yourself and you save your soul.” — Alice Hoffman, “Incantation”

I think it’s important to know who you are and to be unapologetically yourself. Life isn’t about making other people happy ‚Äî it’s about following your dreams.
