Bethany Theatre to Present 'Cloud 9'

The Bethany College Visual and Performing Arts Department will present “Cloud 9,” a comedy about power, politics, family, the Victorian Empire and sex. The play will be presented Dec. 3-5 at 8 p.m. and Dec. 6 at 2 p.m.

175th Celebration All-Campus Party to be Held Next Friday

We hope you can join alumni, faculty, and friends for an enjoyable evening in downtown Pittsburgh to commemorate Bethany’s 175th anniversary. This event takes place at “Gunner’s” inside PNC Park - one of America’s most beautiful ballparks - on Friday, Nov. 6, from 6:30 - 10 p.m. Purchase tickets here.

Paint n Sip Features Fall Old Main

Eleven alumni & friends gathered on Friday, Oct. 23, at Erickson Alumni Center for a fall themed paint n sip. The painting was of part of Old Main and inspired by artist Leonid Afremov.

The event was hosted by the Alumni Office and Student Alumni Association. The event raised over $50 for the Student Alumni Association.

 

Area Kids Visit Campus for Boomer's Book Club Event

Boomer’s Book Club presented “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Boomer Bison” and featured a number of stations and activities on Saturday, Oct. 24.  Boomer, in his Batman Halloween costume, attended the event.

All of the children in attendance were able to select a pumpkin from “Boomer’s Pumpkin Patch” and decorate it for the holiday.  Yeck’s Pumpkins donated more than 5 dozen pumpkins for the event and leftovers were used for the Pumpkin Painting event open to Bethany College students on Sunday. More pictures from the event are available here.

 

Students Decorate Pumpkins

Students came out to the TW Phillips Memorial Library on Sunday, Oct. 25, to paint pumpkins and enjoy fall snacks. Pumpkin art ranged from spooky witches to Harry Potter, and everything in between!

More than 15 students attended the event, which was hosted by the library student supervisors.

Alumnus Named to State Testing Review Panel

Christopher Berry '85 has been named the chair of Maryland's standardized testing review panel. Gov. Larry Hogan announced Berry along with 18 others to this new 19-member task force that is charged with reviewing statewide public school assessments. Berry is the principal of James Hubert Blake High School in Montgomery County, Maryland. MORE>.

Bethany’s Fullbright Earns Capital One Academic All-District II Honors

Bethany College women’s soccer junior Brittany Fullbright has been named a Capital One Academic All-District II selection, announced the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Thursday afternoon.

Bison Football to Welcome Grove City for Senior Day

The Bethany College football team will look to close out the home portion of their regular season with a win as they host Grove City College for Senior Day at Bison Stadium. The Bison enter the game with a 3-5 record, 2-4 in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference while the Wolverines are still searching for their first win of the year at 0-7, 0-5 in the PAC.

Eric Blinn/Nadim Raddar Named to D3football.com National Team of the Week

After leading the Bison football team to a 41-15 victory over Geneva College on Saturday, seniors Nadim Raddar (Laurel, Md./Old Mill) and Eric Blinn (Beaver, Pa./Western Beaver) were named to the D3football.com National Team of the Week.

Bison Field Hockey Routs Sweet Briar In Season Finale

The Bethany College field hockey team rolled to a 9-0 victory over Sweet Briar College on Sunday afternoon. The Bison seniors all tallied points in their final game at Bison Stadium.

Bison Volleyball Overpowers Geneva in PAC Showdown

The Bethany College volleyball team wrapped up regular season Presidents’ Athletic Conference play with a 3-1 victory over Geneva College on Thursday evening in the Hummel Field House.

After helping lead the Bethany College football team to a 41-15 victory over Geneva College on Saturday, Bison senior defensive end Nadim Raddar (Laurel, Md./Old Mill) has been selected as the Presidents’ Athletic Conference Player of the Week, announced the PAC on Monday afternoon.
