April 15 - WASHINGTON, Pa. –Sophomore Dustin Maiolo (Stevensville, Ontario/St. Michael) posted two more wins Sunday, but they were the only victories for the Bethany College men’s tennis team in a 7-2 setback at Washington & Jefferson.

The team of Maiolo and senior Richard Strassguetl (Munich, Germany) rolled to an 8-0 victory at third doubles, but the Presidents won the other two flights. Included in those was a tough 9-7 loss suffered at #2 by freshman Jared Roque (Munster, Ind.) and sophomore Tyler Rhoades (McDonald, Pa./Fort Cherry).

Maiolo was just as impressive in his singles match, scoring a 6-1, 6-2 victory at #3. However, W&J would take the other five flights, with four in straight sets. Rozue pushed his match at #4 to three sets but was dealt a heart-breaking 3-6, 6-4, 6-7 (11-13) defeat.

The Bison (5-5, 2-4) will close out their home schedule Monday by hosting Muskingum at 4 p.m.
