Bethany’s Miller in CIC Presidents/Foundation CEO Meeting

Bethany College President Dr. Scott D. Miller took part in a discussion between foundation officers and college and university presidents recently at the TIAA-CREF Headquarters in New York City.

The meeting, sponsored by the Council of Independent Colleges, focused on the theme of “Investing in Access and Success: Colleges and Foundations Join Forces to Educate All Students.”

Among the foundation officers taking part in the meeting were Michael Gilligan, President, Henry Luce Foundation; Jamie Merisotis, President, Lumina Foundation for Education; Eduardo Martinez, Director of Programs and Corporate Relations, UPS Foundation; Jane Zimmer Daniels, Program Director of the Clare Boothe Luce and Higher Education Programs, Henry Luce Foundation; Barbara Gombach, Project Manager in Education, National Programs, Carnegie Corporation of New York; Max Marmor, President, Samuel H. Kress Foundation; Steven C. Wheatley, Vice President, American Council of Learned Societies; and Mason Granger, Director of Grants, William Randolph Hearst Foundations.

Dr. Richard Ekman, President, Council of Independent Colleges, presided over the meeting.
